Meet the team
"Hello, we are the Hatherleigh SureStart Children’s Centre
team. This page is to introduce ourselves and tell you a little about
what we do"
Jenny Mackenzie
– Children’s Centre Manager
Hello, I have worked with young children since 1986 and have subsequently gained experience & qualifications in early years which include: Diploma in preschool practice, BA Early Childhood Studies & NPQICL (National professional qualification in Integrated Centre Leadership). I am responsible for the overall management and development of Hatherleigh Children’s Centre.
Alison Dennis –
Administrator
Hello, I’m Alison. I have worked for this centre since May 2003 and have prior experience of working with young children through preschool and serving on school/preschool committees. I also manage the admin and accounting side of my husbands business. At the children’s centre I am responsible for managing the budget and accounts.
Jo Craker –
Admin assistant
Hi, I’m Jo. I am a new member of the team at Hatherleigh Children’s Centre. I have had previous experience with young children & families during my time as chairperson and various roles on voluntary committees. I have two young children myself so am aware of the needs of families with young children. I have had 12 years experience in an administration and accounts role and I am responsible for the administration here at the children’s centre.
Tina
Brock – Project worker
Hi I’m Tina, I joined the centre in 2004 after working for several years in a nursery setting since gaining my BTEC award in Early Years and Childcare. I lead several of the centres services, work to liaise with and support local toddler groups, and enjoy working with the Dads group, young parents and the parent’s forum. I look forward to meeting you and your family at the centre.
Liz Baker – Project
worker
Hello, my name is Liz and I began working at
Hatherleigh at the same time as Tina, in November 2004. I have worked as a
primary school teacher for several years and with an art degree background,
I enjoy the creative activities at the Children’s Centre. I am also the project worker
responsible for health and safety and you can meet
me at Bounce and Rhyme sessions and Busy Babies. I have recently organised a couple of very
successful library/storytelling events and enjoy the challenge of providing
something new and exciting for families and children.
Paula Clark & Claire Dennis – Playworkers
Paula and Claire are both long term members of staff who work for the children’s centre part-time alongside their roles in other early year’s settings. They are both qualified to level 3 in early years and childcare and their roles within the centre are wide and varied including providing high quality crèches, play activities and early learning experiences for children and their families.
Crèche workers and Volunteers
We have a growing team of regular voluntary and paid crèche workers and casual staff who work hard in supporting the regular centre staff in providing a high standard of services to its families.
Come and meet us all!
